What is you first wine memory?
Sneaking a glass as a 12 year old from my parents party—bringing it downstairs to try while my friends looked on in awe.

Mouthfeel.
What is your favorite curse word?
F*cking A.
What is your “Desert Island” wine?
Any Nebbiolo will do. (well, almost…I’ll pick a Nebbiolo and Freisa from Caves de Donnas)
What is your favorite wine region?
As a Northern Cali boy, I have to pick Napa.
When and where were (are) you happiest?
On the beach, anywhere.
What is your favorite food & wine pairing?
Rioja and Paella
What is your greatest extravagance?
Time spent doing nothing.
Your favorite book or movie about wine or food?
Book: The Sweet Life in Paris by David Lebowitz, Film: Babette’s Feast
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
From my Mom, usually when I didnt want to do something: Mind over matter.

If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what would it be?
A nice couch. What can I say I love a good nap.
If you didn’t have a career in wine what other occupation might you choose?
I don’t have a career in wine, but maybe I should?

Born in San Francisco, Peter Som launched his award-winning eponymous collection in 2000. Known for his signature use of color and pattern with streamlined feminine silhouettes, he’s also widely known for his entertaining and love of food. Peter’s brand of effortless sophistication has extended to the food and home space, with recipes featured in numerous publications and digital platforms including The Feed Feed (where he is a contributor), to Purewow, Vogue.com, Elle.com, Bon Appetit, Food and Wine, Refinery29 and more.
His clothes have sold at top retailers worldwide including Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Moda Operandi and Nordstrom. He has had highly successful collaborations with brands including Kohls, Sferra, Lancome and Anthropologie. He was a finalist in the first CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund and twice nominated for the CFDA Emerging Designer Award. Notable women such as Michelle Obama, Beyoncé, Scarlett Johansson, and Maggie Gyllenhaal have worn Peter’s clothing.
He lives in New York City and Sag Harbor.
